Facial Paralysis Supported With Fscial Slings

Abstract
|

|
The use of fresh autogenous strips of fascia lata continues to be one of the simple and basic methods of support, although it is not perfect. The strips are anchored in the temporal musele and faseia and looped down through the face in two or more levels. Any excess skin can be romoved at the same time. of course, mechanical support should not be relied upon when nerve anastomosis impossible: but, where the distal branches of nerve have been torn out, the operation oulined herein in applicalbe. A case of unilateral facial paralysis is shown with before and after this procedure.
